Should you tip the pizza delivery guy, and if so about how much?

Me and my fiance order pizza sometimes. When we do I am always asking this question in the back of my head. So I though I would ask.
okay for the girl that said she is sorry I didn’t tip the pizza guy. I didn’t say that I it and I always do. So don’t talk like I said something I never did say.

If you were him, working for $2 an hour, would you want a tip? If you ordered enough food for 10, give the guy $10…smaller order $2-4 is likely good. Unless you’re in New York or LA, then give the guy as much as you can.
If you have extra cash, surprise someone one day and give him/her a HUGE tip. It’ll make the person’s day and you’ll feel awesome.

Standard tip for pizza delivery is 10-20%. I always tip more because I always order from the same place. My name is known there now and I get excellent service – they keep coming back for the good tips

yeah, because it is the same in the resturant. the delivery guy brings the food to your door. so why not! i think anywhere from $3 to $5 depending on how much the food came to. sometimes i just give the rest of the change. also remember that most places live off of their tips… AC

As a manager of a pizza shop I would have to say that they definitely appreciate a big tip. I would say always tip 5 dollars unless you ordered a ton of food and they have to carry a lot of bags. Then I would make the tip bigger. Plus, with the cost of gas a 5 dollar tip lets them know you appreciate the fact that they are still willing to pay 3 + dollars a gallon for gas to bring you your food. ~April~ scrappykins

I usually tip the pizza guy like 1or 2 dallors and sometimes a 5 if it’s a lot of pizzas. I suggest not tipping at resterunts cause they put it in the bill most of the time plus if you do they pay tip taxes which i don’t like. Now i tip the pizza guy 15% of the order or 10. edyyrules

I agree with everyone else. a good tip is anywhere between $3-5 and it does ensure you get good service next time. I think they note your account with all details both good and bad so when you are a good tipper, its noted and you get better service from your delivery guy or girl. bib

Yes, you should always tip the pizza delivery guys/girls. I used to be a delivery person. We got paid min wage plus commission for our deliveries, but we had to use our own cars and provide our on gas. I have driven 9-10 miles one way to deliver and not get a tip. The tips are what helps pay for the gas. linda_g47

well it depends on how his custormer service was, if he just ask u for your money and then give u the pizza. then i dont think you should. But if he is polite and say yes ma’am, or please words like that than yeah. Also if he has a smile on his face, trying to be happy in what he is doing, even tho its his boring job, that is what makes a person give the pizza man BIG tips. curt

Seriously, I give minimum of $3.00, sometimes $5.00 If it is a party and they bring a lot of pizza the tip goes up. busybody12
